About the organisation
We have been in existence for over 25 years now - our founder is still a member! - and are affiliated to British Riding Clubs. Our Committee not only has some very long-standing, hardworking members but also newer faces so we are able to get fresh input. A Newsletter is published quarterly and contains news, views, results and planned events. There is also an opportunity to advertise items for sale.
Although we are a relatively small Club we do try to cater for all disciplines and interests of our members. We have always had a very strong dressage contingency with many successes but show jumping and cross country tends to fluctuate. During the year we run regular dressage competitions, the last one being in October. Points are awarded to members who are placed and these accumulate throughout the year beginning in November and ending in September. This enables us to present the person and horse combination with the Dressage Accumulator Cup at our AGM in October.
We also run Clinics for dressage, show jumping and cross country. This is not only beneficial for Members but also helps us to evaluate any potential team members. These are run for all levels and experience from the very novice to intermediate.
We try our best to cater for our members' needs so please, if you have any ideas or suggestions, do contact me or anyone else on the Committee. In order to run the above events we are always in need of help from non committee members so if you are free on the day of a competition for a couple of hours please give us a call. It is a good way to meet other members and have a chat.
